Decades after a ruthless coup thrust the tyrannical Empress onto the throne, Vrisan languishes under the weight of oppression. Dagger, a thrall of the crown, that claims death in the gray between of midnight, is forced to wield her deadly skills in service of the very regime that took her freedom. Leashed through the safety of her family by the Overseer, she knows no safety or haven except the ones she makes herself. The blood price one that might one day cost her everything.

Amari, a mysterious figure harboring a past veiled in secrecy, treads the delicate balance between survival and allegiance to the empire. Responsibility a burden that was easiest to run from rather than face. Now, Amari must face the choices of the past to protect the future. With few options remaining, sacrifices must be made.
